Provider Relations Manager Job Opening in Detroit, Michigan - The Provider Relations Manager, is responsible for managing and maintaining the provider network(s) including expanding the number of contracted providers through recruitment when required, building relationships with the provider maintaining existing key relationships and ensure retention of current relationships. Provider Relations Manager works with the Leadership team to design, develop, and implement provider engagement strategies that align with mission and company goals. This individual is responsible for overseeing the department?s day-to-day operations and the direct management, development, and growth of the Provider Relations representatives.
Train Provider Relations staff
Create a cohesive team environment to expand and manage the networks
Meet with each team member to determine where they are regarding goals, determine areas of development and mentoring opportunities
Oversee development of provider contracting strategies, identifying geographic locations on which to concentrate resources for purposes of establishing a sufficient network of participating providers
Perform a ride along with Provider Relations Representative on a quarterly basis to determine any issues Reps. may be encountering and identify potential training opportunities
Oversee monthly Provider Relations Department reporting
Develop, coordinate and verify the accuracy of all reports that come in and go out of Provider Relations Department
Work in concert with other departments to ensure provider network relationships are developed and maintained
A minimum of 3 years managed care or health plan experience
Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to use independent judgment and follow the strategic plan
Knowledge of healthcare management
Negotiation and leadership skills
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Salesforce and PowerPoint
