Staff Accountant Job Opening in Canton, Ohio - Staff accountant position at Canton Elevator, Inc.
Canton Elevator, Inc. is a manufacturer of hydraulic passenger and freight elevators located in Green, Ohio. Founded in 1946, Canton Elevator has been established as an industry leader in non-proprietary vertical transportation equipment with sales throughout the United States. We are searching for a staff accountant that will be responsible for maintaining and improving the financial functions necessary for timely and accurate financial reporting to management. Will report to the vice president of finance.
Responsibilities:
Daily maintenance of general ledger transactions
Interact with accounting staff (A/R, A/P, billing, payroll)
Grant/maintain account credit to customers
Accounts receivable collections
Manage inventory (physical, costing, stock levels, identify obsolete/slow moving, etc.)
Monthly internal financial statement preparation
Implement and improve upon accounting policies & procedures
Calculate and update overhead rates and standard part costs
Financial interaction with factory, sales, engineering and purchasing as necessary
Maintain tax calendar and compile data required for tax filings
Supply support to internal auditors
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or finance
2-5 years relevant accounting experience
CPA certification or actively pursuing certification
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office and general knowledge of accounting software functionality
Must maintain highest level of confidentiality
