Accounting Coordinator Job Opening in Chicago, Illinois - Freedman Seating Company, a leading manufacturer of bus and commercial truck seats located on the west side of Chicago, has an immediate opening for an Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Coordinator.
Working closely with the Controller and Senior Business Accountant, the Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Coordinator oversees, manages and executes the daily AR and AP operations of the company. The AR/AP Coordinator will be primarily responsible for overseeing the A/R invoices and collections including managing the A/R portals, processing cash and checks, running aging reports, etc. A/P responsibilities include but are not limited to managing and running checks, processing foreign and miscellaneous invoices, working closely with the company?s banking representatives, etc. The AR/AP Coordinator will also serve as a subject matter expert in support of the AR/AP Clerks. Individuals in this role will be responsible for proactively collaborating with internal stakeholders, suppliers, partners, and customers. The AR/AP Coordinator will be expected to rely upon their ability to work with others, problem-solve and use critical thinking skills and judgement to achieve the goals of department and company.
Job Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or associate?s degree with prior finance or accounting experience
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, duties and responsibilities
Self-starter with strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
Team player with a desire for problem-solving and critical thinking
Proficient computer skills including strong Excel skills and prior exposure to ERP systems
Cost accounting and previous AP/AR experience a plus
