Part-Time Medical Scheduler Job Opening in Salem, Oregon - Cascade Cardiology is looking to expand our team with a Part-Time Medical Scheduler (3 days a week, plus additional shifts as needed). Our fast paced environment is best suited for motivated individuals who have an interest in helping patients, especially as it relates to chronic conditions and preventative care.

General:
Under general supervision of provider team, Human Resource Specialist and Practice Manager, this position is responsible for scheduling patient appointments and tests in an efficient and timely manner. Answers incoming scheduling calls and work accordingly. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical staff.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Obtains and communicates messages in an accurate and timely manner.
Schedules new patients and return appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines.
Cancels/reschedules appointments according to physician schedule changes and notifies appropriate clinic personnel.
Maintains physicians' schedule: on call, vacations, meetings, etc.
Schedules outpatient and hospital admissions upon request.
Works in conjunction with pre-authorization coordinator to obtain pre-authorization as necessary.
Handles incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
Provides patients with accurate and legible appointment cards.
Documents' no shows in patient's chart for missed visits.
Follows up with patient to reschedule any missed appointments.
Manages weekly recall lists
Arranges for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
Demonstrates an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
Follows policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
Covers for other scheduling functions as requested.
Performs other administrative duties as directed.
Willingness to travel to multiple satellite locations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Good customer service skills
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English and Spanish preferred.
Some heavy lifting may be required using proper transport techniques
Knowledge of proper sanitation, personal hygiene, and basic health and safety precautions in a clinical environment
Ability to adjust specific daily routines to fit patient flow due to unforeseen circumstances.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff.

Required Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1 ? 2 years in medical healthcare setting
Software Systems: NextGen, Epic, Microsoft Platform
Language: Verbal and written communication skills in Spanish a plus
Licensure: Valid Oregon Driver?s License and reliable transportation
