In your role as the Controller , you will oversee the operation of the accounting department, issue timely and complete financial statements, perform necessary financial analyses, maintain an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the companies reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Analysis, documentation, recommendation and implementation of internal controls and overall review of operations to improve cost efficiency, effectiveness and accounting controls
Work closely with Senior Management on short and long term financial planning and analysis of projects and costs
Review and analysis of financial statements for internal and external reporting
Provide analysis and research of technical accounting and tax issues
Respond to information requests in connection with filing of annual tax return
Oversee contract administration as it relates to billing, revenue recognition and business risk assessment
Coordinate annual Research and Development Credit engagement
Supervise, monitor and evaluate accounting staff including the accounts payable, cash receipts, and accounts receivable/billing function
Manage communications with regulatory agencies and maintain relationships with financial institutions
Monitor compliance with all external regulatory agencies. This includes reporting to financial institutions, GET, 1099?s, responding to federal surveys, etc.
Participation in 401(k) Plan Administration Committee
Maintain close working relationship with Human Resource and Accounting Departments within the ?ike family of companies
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Business Administration
Certified Public Accountant preferred
10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Highly self-motivated individual with a keen attention to detail and ability to problem solve
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines
Excellent working knowledge of Excel and Word
Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, Sage Fixed Assets software and NetSuite OpenAir experience a plus
Proficient in operating basic office equipment i.e. 10-key calculator by touch, facsimile, etc.
