Junior Financial Planner/Analyst Job Opening in Englewood, Colorado - Job Summary:
The Junior Financial Planner / Analyst position shares a visible role in supporting the company's reporting and analysis efforts. Reporting to the Sr. Director Pricing Strategy & Merchandise Analytics, this position will provide analytical perspectives on important strategic decisions working in coordination with operations, marketing, and merchandising teams. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for surfacing and presenting key business insights and recommendations to the senior management team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about using financial analysis to drive improvements in all areas of the business. This individual must excel at interacting with customers throughout the company to understand their business needs and to help them understand the key leverage points of the business. The successful candidate must go beyond conducting pure financial analysis to actively work with internal customers to develop corrective actions and present financial analysis in a concise, easily understood format that highlight issues of greatest concern. This position regularly interacts with business managers throughout the organization and must project a clear passion for improving the business and helping business unit managers become more effective in their jobs.
Essential Functions:
Develop effective partnerships with key departmental management to understand business issues and analytical needs.
Create insightful analysis, reports, financial models, and presentations regarding the effectiveness, cost/benefit, optimization, and ROI of company initiatives.
Based on analysis, note trends and anomalies, as well as opportunities and challenges for the company. Develop recommendations as necessary.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions.
Prepare regular forecasts of revenue and expenses.
Generate internal management reports and monitor key performance indicators.
Build and help automate reporting tools.
Qualifications:
Lead and build budgeting process in partnership with Senior Management Team.
Excellent analytical, forecasting, reporting, modeling, and organizational skills.
Expert Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to manipulate and develop data into workable models and projections for use in the organization.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to interpret and summarize data to assist in achieving strategic and operational goals.
Able to think and work independently, and meet aggressive deadlines in a fast paced, high growth environment.
Excellent interpersonal and skills
:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as accounting, finance, economics, engineering, or statistics.
2-4 years financial planning and analysis experience with a strong preference for consumer products experience at either the retailer or supplier level.
