Web Developer Job Opening in New York, New york - Skills requirements
Responsibilities:
Work tirelessly to analyze and improve the speed stability of our website, and constantly evaluate the tools we use to do so
Design and build API integrations to various public and private APIs
Scale and maintain our infrastructure in the EU in order to improve the experience for EU visitors
Support our Logistics and Storefront teams, helping keep all our applications online and healthy
Develop ways to capture, analyze, and act upon data to improve our user experience and workflow
Think of new ways to improve the business, and be ready to take ownership over their implementation
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, and able to manage their own time effectively. You should be very opinionated about the software you build and the tools you use, and be willing to debate the choices we make as a team (in the spirit of collaboration of course!). You should also have:
5+ years of experience in a Software Engineer role preferably in a start-up environment
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education
Deep knowledge of Rails or another MVC web framework
Proficiency with JavaScript (we use CoffeeScript)
Proficiency with CSS (we use SASS)
Experience working with PostgreSQL or another relational database
Comfortable working with Unix command line tools and version-control tools like git
Experience building and expanding web platforms through periods of high growth
Ability to prioritize tasks and spec out requirements for implementation
Experience in E-Commerce is a major plus Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, HTML - HyperText Markup Language
