CNC Programmer- Sheet Metal Job Opening in seattle, Washington - CNC Programmer- Sheet Metal Scope: Prepares drawings/programs and is responsible for resolving associated mechanical and fabrication problems. Participates in designing special modifications to existing machinery or parts. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within this particular field. Primary job functions typically requires moderate exercising of independent judgment, relies on extensive experience to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Follows Programming guidelines. Observes JIT policies and helps create a cohesive team. Reports to General Manager. Responsibilities include: * Assists and QC. the manufacturing process planning. * Program parts and assemblies in the most productive and cost affective manor. * Determines tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. * Orders tooling from the Purchasing department. (Educate Purchasing as to what tools are needed may need to build an order sheet to track and verify tools ordered) * Clarifies technical issues with sales and estimating dept. including repairing and dimension customer's drawings for the shop, as needed. * Request bend samples as needed from Materials Manager. * Plan materials, print and assemble required information * Assist various departments and vendors in development of fixtures and templates. * Assist and be the backup and QC for the process specifications on the Process Sheet. * Reverse engineer parts, for customers, into drawings and programs and present ideas for improvements for ease of manufacturing. (use discretion ) * Update previous programs for new tooling, software, methods, etc. . . * Research and outline ideas to improve performance and process developments. * Design and draw special tooling if required. * Identify CAD/CAM software issues. * Assist and file electronic drawings, on or from appropriate drives as needed. * Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks * Understands Precision Sheet metal * Has minimum of two years' experience Start Traing on Days shift and may work nights. 4/10s M-TH Friday would be OT if needed with Full Benefits after introductory period. seattle wa washington
