Technical positions at Würth DMB Supply are wide ranging and require flexibility, willingness to research issues, develop solutions and the determination to see projects through to the end. The scope of our work varies from the well-established requirements of the ISO 9001 quality management standard to technical product matters to questions regarding restricted materials and international trade compliance. Our scope of work is anything that the Quality Manager or other executives need us to do, so we face a lot of different challenges.
Essential Responsibilities
Basic Quality Management
Quality Planning-review of customer and internal drawings, specifications and standards that define a customer?s requirements, interpreting those and translating them into our system to ensure those requirements are consistently met. The biggest part of this is part number creation but also includes review of customer quality manuals and standards, understanding the customer?s expectations and making sure our processes can meet them.
Document Management & Control ? identification, collection, organization, control and development of documents that require control to ensure documents are retrievable, available and usable.
Control of Measuring Devices ? Identification and management of measuring devices, mainly gages and scales, to make sure they are in proper working order and accurate for their intended use. This also includes development of measuring methods, instruction in use and purchase of devices as necessary.
Control of Non-Conforming Material- make sure that suspect and rejected material is locked down so it cannot be shipped unless properly cleared for shipment. This includes assessment of the issue, coordination with Purchasing and Receiving, working with customers and suppliers on the resolution of the issue.
Performance , analysis and publication of data that shows the performance of our organization and suppliers to determine progress towards our goals. Much of this is related to customer complaints and questions.
Corrective Action ? use a disciplined and documented approach to fix problems and ensure they are not repeated, especially useful for repeated problems. Drive this approach throughout the company.
Auditing ? Perform internal and supplier audits to assess capability to standards and expectations.
System Development ? Participation in the development of the quality management system (QMS). This can include anything to improve the operation of the QMS.
