JOB OVERVIEW:
The Senior Accountant position will primarily analyze accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department. Additional scope of the position includes preparing and managing the work flow for accounts payable processes and insuring invoices are paid within the contracted/ negotiated time.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Perform bank activities to include:
Positive pay upload
Positive pay exception determination
Bank Reconciliation
Analyze account analysis fee
Submit documents to bank to avail credit on equipment purchase
Line of credit reconciliation
Produce and prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from operational and administrative teams
Fixed Asset recording and reconciliation based on established policies
Perform monthly account reconciliations of balance sheet accounts
Provide recommendations based on analysis of revenue and expenditure
Will work to develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Work with planning and analysis to assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
Provide assistance to Controller with external audit
Respond to tax notice.
Additional special projects assigned by management
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree in accounting or equivalent from an accredited university
CPA certification is a plus
Four to six years? experience in an accounting department of a small to mid-size organization.
Strong and thorough understanding of GAAP
Strong analytical and accounting skills
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks.
Must have the ability to take ownership of their work. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the company
Well-organized with the ability to prioritize
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
WORKING CONDITIONS:

Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to visit a Client?s office and job sites
When performing outside PGE office, appropriate safety training and safety equipment will be provided by PGE and/or Client as required
While performing duties of this job, would occasionally require to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects and tools
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus
