General Summary : Providing accurate hard bids for residential construction projects. Assists in controlling and reducing the overall project cost by generating accurate take-offs on existing and new plans. Develops and maintains WO/PO system. Bridging the gap between sales, design and production departments per project. Providing input in value engineering and optimization processes for design, service and production. Updating pricing for different departments and providing technical support for software related to estimating.
Basic Qualifications
Three to five years of estimating knowledge
Two to Three years construction materials/homes
Broad Knowledge of general estimating software (excel, 3rd party estimating software)
Essential Job Functions
Assist in identifying cost saving techniques, materials, and procedures
Update, communicate and verify any hard cost changes due to inflation or quality change to Sales and Purchasing
PO/WO Processor : PO/WO system for controlling job cost and timelines..
Learn the software system which produces PO/WOs for residential construction
Administer accurate quantity take offs, estimates, competitive bidding, contract negotiation and value engineering * Eliminate any office related variances through ongoing communication with field personnel keeping cost slippage to a minimum
Generate accurate purchase orders/work orders and distribute them within specific time frame
Understand the overall process for completing PO/WO
Technical Knowledge and Skills : Displaying broad technical knowledge
Develop or learn the software system which applies to the job.
Understand the overall building process, terms, techniques and procedures
Understand assemblies and product information as it relates to estimating costs
