Senior Data Quality Analyst Job Opening in Atlanta, Georgia - We are assisting an Atlanta area client in their search for a Senior Data Quality Analyst. This is a contract to hire role.
As a Senior QA Analyst, you will will provide leadership through knowledge sharing and mentoring, as well as influence the continuous improvement of product quality and team health in the Business and Data Intelligence domains. The analyst actively participates in gathering and analyzing business requirements to devise a thorough test strategy. The analyst is expected to mentor and train QA Analyst in best practices and standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead development of QA strategy and drive the implementation and adoption of established standards for validation of data artifacts
Actively participate in gathering and analyzing business requirements to devise a thorough test strategy leveraging the Microsoft SQL Server platform (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS)
Collaborate with application developers, business owners, and operations to ensure the accuracy of production Business Intelligence designs and implementations
Review and provide feedback to ensure clear and concise test cases and documentation
Maintain and apply a working knowledge of testing tools and techniques
Identify and troubleshoot business process and or data quality issues
Improve speed of delivery throughout the software development life cycle
Mentor and train QA Analyst in best practices
Active in BI and Data communities and current industry trends and standards
Education and Experience:
BS in Computer Science, Engineering discipline
5 Year of QA / testing applications in an Agile development environment. Or, equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in structured testing methodology, with a proven ability to breakdown business requirements/functional/non-functional requirements into high and detailed test cases and test scenarios
Experience writing complex SQL queries involving multiple table joins, nested queries, and SQL functions
Experience working with teams using CI/CD tools and methodologies
Experience mentoring and coaching junior associates, specifically with QA methodologies and best practices
Experience with test automation
Experience in XML content validation
Required Skills:
Advanced test design techniques
Automated testing technologies
Strengths in the Microsoft stack validating business intelligence enterprise grade solutions
Excellent SQL skills
Proficient in gathering/creating test data using complex SQL queries.
A firm understanding of relational database and OLAP design principles
Working knowledge of advanced dashboard solutions with Multi-Dimensional Expressions (MDX) a plus
Working knowledge of industry Dimensional Modeling standards (Kimball Methodology) a plus
Proficiency in query and solution performance tuning and optimization a plus
Working knowledge and understanding of version control system (Git, SVN)
Excellent at leveraging an issue tracking system (Jira, VersionOne)
